Trump Celebrates Release Of Secret Comey Memo

Donald Trump
"We got these clowns right we want them, Mike!"

President Donald Trump talked about the release of the memos written by James Comey, the former FBI Director, on late Thursday night saying that he had accused him of obstructing justice and conspiring with Russia.

“James Comey Memos just out and show clearly that there was NO COLLUSION and NO OBSTRUCTION. Also, he leaked classified information. WOW! Will the Witch Hunt continue?”

The memos given by James Comey have become a point of controversy in the partisan battle on Capitol Hill related to whether or not President Trump had any role to play in the obstruction of justice in the ongoing investigations regarding the ties between Russia and his campaigns.

The Department of Justice had been forced to hand the memos over to the Congress on Thursday, or else they would be given a subpoena by Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), the House Judiciary Chairman.

Bob Goodlatte along with other Republicans that include Trey Gowdy, Government Reform Committee Chairman, and Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), Intelligence Committee Chairman, have been carrying out the investigations pertaining to the alleged anti-Trump bias in the Department of Justice (DOJ) leading up to the 2016 elections.

After the release of Comey’s memo, which contained details that were mostly known by the public due to the testimony made by Comey on Capitol Hill and the leaked extracts from his autobiography, three Republicans gave a statement saying that the memos offer a clear proof that there were no obstructions of justice.

Gowday, Nunes, and Goodlatte wrote that the memos show Comey as a self-centered man and that it acts as an evidence that President Trump had nothing to do with the Russians.

“(Comey) was willing to work for someone he deemed morally unsuited for office, capable of lying, requiring of personal loyalty, worthy of impeachment, and sharing the traits of a mob boss,” stated the congressmen.

“Former Director Comey was willing to overlook all of the aforementioned characteristics in order to keep his job,” they added. “In his eyes, the real crime was his own firing.”

The top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, Representative Elijah Cummings, said they “provide strong corroborating evidence of everything [Comey] said about President Trump” and display a “blatant effort to deny justice.”

President Donald J. Trump also mentioned in his tweets that James Comey had given one unclassified memo to his friend, who then passed it onto the New York Times. James Comey did that in order to encourage the appointment of a special counsel for the Russian investigation.

President Donald Trump has railed against the investigation repeatedly, calling it a “witch hunt.” He has amped up his attacks against James Comey due to the allegations being passed against him, as the former FBI director boards a media tour to promote his recent book.
