A liberal reporter accidentally betrayed her bias… when she forgot to hang up the phone and wound up leaving a nasty voicemail to Michigan Republican Senate candidate, John James.
Brenda Battel of the Huron Daily Tribune had called the campaign office for James, who is locked in a close battle with incumbent Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow, to request a post-election interview.
After she thought she hung up the phone, she said, “Man, if he beats her… Jesus! F**king John James. That would suck! Whew, I don’t think it’s going to happen though.”
The James campaign immediately pounced on the snafu, with campaign manager Tori Sachs telling The Daily Caller, “The liberal media can’t stand the idea of a job creator and combat veteran coming to Washington to shake up the system. This happened as we closed in within the margin of error.”
The Huron Daily Tribune also wasn’t in a forgiving mood: editor Kate Hessling announced in a statement that she could “find no reason to defend” Battel’s comments, and that “Brenda Battel’s employment has been immediately terminated.”
