There’s another traditional deadline on April 15th and that’s the FEC reporting deadline for candidates, committees and political action committees to submit their 1st Quarter financial reports.
As of publishing 351 organizations and have submitted their reports and Democrats are already brining in big dollars in what is typically a bleak fundraising quarter.
- Embattled California Congressman Eric Swalwell pulled in $523k and closed the quarter with $623k cash on hand.
- Abigail Spanberger, a Democrat congresswoman from Virginia raised an impressive $661k while sitting on a war chest of $1.2 million.
- Pro-Impeachment Republican Senator Liz Cheney cleared $1.3 million and has a $1.4 million war chest remaining.
And here’s a few interesting asides and remnants from 2020 and even 2016.
Cory Booker’s failed presidential campaign still owes $786k to vendors from 2020 while little Marco Rubio remains $827k in the red from 2016!
But get this, remember Newt Gingrich’s presidential run from 2012? Well as of the April 2021 report, he still owes an astonishing $4.6 MILLION bucks! So much for fiscal responsibility.
