Common Thugs Mess With Wrong Marine

Don't mess with Texas!

Four teenagers from Houston, Texas, learned a very difficult lesson on Friday night after they had attempted to rob a man who had been sitting outside his garage. The man, a retired Marine, was armed.

Around 10:30 p.m. on Friday night, four black teenage males walked up to Alexander Borrego’s house, and had pulled out a gun and tried to rob him. Borrego told a local television network that one of the teenagers had stuck the gun to his head. However, they knew little that Borrego was both a Marine and was armed with a pistol.

“One came alongside, through here, and next thing I knew I had a gun to the back of my head,” Borrego had said. “They told me to get up, so, I stood up. My garage door was open so, my main concern was my family at that point.”

Borrego told the television network that his military training had kicked in when the gun was placed against his head. He said he swiped the gun away and began firing at the boy with the gun, shooting him in the torso and the leg.

After Borrego opened fire in his self-defense, the boys had scattered and ran to the home of the teenager who was injured in the bout. That boy’s mom took him to the hospital, where he is in critical condition. However, the boy is expected to survive.

Borrego had appeared to be very pensive in his interview with a news reporter and was very uncomfortable with what he had to do as self-defense. Still, he said that he did what he needed to do to protect his own family as the assaulters were armed too.

“I don’t have hate for them,” Borrego said. “It’s sad, but hey, I had my pistol — I thank God for that.”

According to the local television network, Borrego’s wife took to social media to thank God and praise her husband after the incident occurred.

“You hear about stuff like this all the time, but never think it would happen to you. This could have ended terribly for my family and me, but I think God, everyone watching over us and Alexander Borrego for stopping them from coming inside. I am so proud of you babe. #MyHero,” she had reportedly said.

As for the concern that Borrego will face any charges, the reports, and the television network reported, he will not.
