President Trump took to Twitter, to condemn James Comey, just hours before the former FBI Director was scheduled to appear on a Sunday evening interview with ABC News.
“James Comey states that Polls, where Crooked Hillary was leading, were a factor in the handling (stupidly) of the Clinton Email probe. In other words, he was making decisions based on the fact that he thought she was going to win, and he wanted a job. Slimeball!” tweeted Trump on Sunday.
Trump’s ire was provoked as excerpts of Comey’s new book, “A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership,” were released to the press ahead of the full book release on Tuesday.
Speaker Paul Ryan was asked to comment on James Comey’s character when he appeared on “Meet the Press” (NBC) on Sunday. He was questioned if Comey is a “man of integrity,” to which Paul Ryan replied,” I don’t know him very well.”
The Republican National Committee has favored President Trump in this dispute and launched a new website named “Lyin’ Comey”
Comey has admitted in his memoir that he expected Hillary Clinton to win the presidency, which is why he claimed he might have applied a different standard to her.
President Donald Trump has accused Comey of leaving multiple questions unanswered. One of these questions included why he had allegedly leaked out a classified memo to Professor Daniel Richman of Columbia University regarding a private meet-up with President Trump. Moreover, he has questioned the FBI as to why they did not use an aggressive approach when inspecting the hacking of DNC (Democratic National Committee) computer servers.
“The big questions in Comey’s badly reviewed book aren’t answered like, how come he gave up Classified Information (jail), why did he lie to Congress (jail), why did the DNC refuse to give Server to the FBI (why didn’t they TAKE it), why the phony memos, McCabe’s $700,000 & more?” tweeted Trump.
He denied the claim Comey made in his testimony in the Congress that President Donald Trump had asked him to pledge his loyalty.
“I never asked Comey for Personal Loyalty. I hardly even knew this guy. Just another of his many lies. His ‘memos’ are self-serving and FAKE!” he added.
“Slippery James Comey, a man who always ends up badly and out of whack (he is not smart!), will go down as the WORST FBI Director in history, by far!” tweeted Trump.
