Trump Congratulates Roseanne Barr After Ratings Bonanza

Donald Trump
"... I don't know how you did it, creating the only show on Mainstream Media worth watching!"

Donald Trump called Roseanne Barr to congratulate her—after the reboot of her iconic sitcom “Roseanne” pulled gigantic ratings on Tuesday night. The show can be seen on Hulu, and ABC.

Barr confirmed the call during an interview on “Good Morning America” on Thursday.

Both Barr and her character on the show are outspoken Trump supporters. On “Good Morning America,” she gushed about how excited she was that the President called her—saying that she and Trump, who spent more than a decade as the host of NBC’s “The Apprentice,” talked about ratings and the television industry. She also said Trump was happy for her.

“I’ve known him for many years and he’s done a lot of nice things for me over the years,” she added.

“Roseanne,” which is one of the first shows to depict a proud and vocal Trump supporter as its main character, posted the highest ratings of any sitcom episode in nearly four years. 18.4 million viewers tuned in—many of them concentrated in states that Trump won in 2016.
