After a rowdy rumble at the Democratic State Convention in Nevada, the Democrats in the state sent a formal complaint about the Sanders campaign.
A lawyer for the Democratic Party in Nevada sent an official complaint and warning to the national Democratic National Committee about Bernie Sanders and potential violence at this summer’s convention in Philadelphia.
Bradley Schrager wrote in the letter on Monday, “Having seen up close the lack of conscience or concern for the ramifications of their actions—indeed, the glee with which they engaged in such destructive behavior—we expect similar tactics at the National Convention in July. We therefore formally complain to the DNC regarding these unfortunate events, and warn the body that the goal of many of these individuals, sanctioned or encouraged by the Sanders campaign, is not party-building but something more sinister and unproductive.”
“More sinister”? What is going on in the Democratic Party?
The violence at the state convention is the same threat that Trump supporters have been seeing for almost six months now.
There have been countless videos that have popped up on the Internet about Bernie and Hillary fans yelling and threatening Trump supporters and even getting violent on numerous occasions.
It looks like the Democrats are finally seeing their party for what it is. It is clear that Democrats for the most part do not like anyone disagreeing with them, and that energy and conviction has been targeted at the right for decades.
What is happening now is the party is turning on itself. Hillary has received 12 million votes so far this primary season and Bernie has received nine million. The party is clearly divided and we can expect fireworks at the summer convention in Philadelphia if Sanders stays in the race. At least the Nevada Democratic Party is expecting fireworks.
The GOP is getting all the press on the divided party, but the Democrats are in an all-out meltdown, which threatens the future of the party. Most young people, by large numbers, are Bernie supporters and how the Democratic Party includes them moving forward could dictate the direction of the party for years to come.
