Rapper Waka Flocka Flame: “I’m dead-ass running for President!”

Waka-Flocka-Flame

Hillary Clinton has some competition: rapper Waka Flocka Flame has announced his candidacy for President of the United States.

Flame’s candidacy leaked from his own Twitter feed, where he announced he’s “dead-ass running for President in 2016.”

He followed up with a formal announcement via an online video–much like his rival, the former Secretary of State.

Flame, 28, has never held political office, and works as rapper, based in Atlanta. Active since 2009, he has released three albums, had roles in two movies, and has recently starred in the reality show, “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” alongside his wife, Tammy Rivera. The Flames have plans to star in a spinoff focusing on their marriage and, presumably, Flame’s nascent presidential bid.

In his campaign video, Flame stakes out bold stances on policy about his plan to move America forward, rather than relying mostly on platitudes, like Mrs. Clinton.

Central to his platform legalizing marijuana, because “the president gotta have a big, fat old blunt.”

But one his biggest driving issues in 2016 will be his crusade against pets being allowed in restaurants. “I don’t want to see no f**king animal in the restaurant ever again,” he said.

One way he will differentiate himself from Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, is his lack of focus on the empowerment of women:

“I feel like women got all the rights already. What else do they want? My mother was [both] my father and my mother so she controlled the house, she raised five men, put food on the table, she kept the lights on… Women are pretty tough right now. I feel like it’s not the thing of rights for women; it’s more of a respect thing.”

Wise words.

While Flame feels he can beat Hillary Clinton, he knows he has an uphill climb against her campaign machine: “It’s a tough one… and I hope I can make it.”

Flame did not address the fact that the U.S. Constitution prohibits anyone under the age of 35 from holding the office of President. Flame, who is 28, would not be 35 until his second term.
