Is Prince Harry the latest celebrity to board the Trump train?
According to the royal’s new father-in-law, Thomas Markle, Harry may be warming to Trump.
In an interview with “Good Morning Britain,” Markle said that Harry urged him to “give Donald Trump a chance” several months ago.
“I always have a bad attitude about Donald Trump and that’s never gonna change,” Markle explained. “I have to apologize to the rest of the world for my president. All Harry actually said–because Trump was new–‘Give him a chance.'”
“I sort of disagreed with that,” added Markle, citing his own liberal politics. “But I still like Harry, that’s his politics, I had my politics.”
He added that he hopes Prince Harry–who is friends with Barack and Michelle Obama–has “changed his mind” on Trump, but isn’t sure of his current feelings.
According to Markle, Harry also expressed support for the United Kingdom leaving the European Union–saying it was “something we have to try.”
According to Markle, the conversation happened when Harry asked for formal permission to Markle’s daughter, Meghan. The couple became engaged in late November 2017.
The surprising comments from Prince Harry, who is sixth in line for the British throne after his father, brother, nephews, and niece, could cause headaches for the royal family–which is supposed to remain apolitical.
