It looks like Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election is going to bring new indictments this week.
Bloomberg is reporting that new indictments could come as early as Tuesday.
Jerome Corsi, a right-wing author and YouTuber, said he expects to be indicted. Corsi has been working with the FBI since receiving a subpoena back in August.
“And at the end of that two months even though I did everything I could to cooperate, the entire negotiations, discussions have just blown up and now I fully anticipate in the next few days I will be indicted by Mueller for some form or other of giving false information to the special counsel or to one of the other grand jury or however they want to do the indictment.” – Jerome Corsi
Corsi isn’t the only one that is expecting to be indicted this week. Roger Stone, a Republican operative and former Trump campaign advisor is also in the scope of Mueller and his investigators.
The news of the possible new indictments does not point directly at Trump, but they are closing in on his inner circle. With the new charges possibly being filled soon, the Congressional Democrats are calling for the new Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker to recuse himself from the Mueller investigation.
Jeff Sessions recused himself from the investigation and the move could have been one of the reasons that Trump replaced the Attorney General.
Mueller’s investigation has gone on for almost two years and still have not produced any proof that Trump colluded with the Russians. Maybe these new indictments will get us closer to the truth. Either that, or Roger Stone and Jerome Corsi could be the next victims in what Donald Trump calls a “witch hunt.”
