Now that Donald Trump is the presumptive nominee, the Washington Post has amassed an army of 20 journalists to dig into the billionaire’s life.
Under the urging of the new owner Jeff Bezos and at the direction of the Associate Editor Bob Woodward, the Post wants to expose every aspect of Donald Trump they can dig up.
Donald Trump has been a well-known figure in America for a long time, but Woodward said “There’s a lot we don’t know about him.” Woodward and the Post have big plans for exposing Trump.
“We have 20 people working on Trump, we’re going to do a book, we’re doing articles about every phase of his life,” Woodward said at the National Association of Realtors convention in Washington DC.
The job isn’t going to be easy apparently. The Associate Editor said, “The New York real estate world is more complex than the CIA.”
Bob Woodward made a name for himself back in the 70’s when he teamed up with Carl Bernstein and exposed the Watergate Scandal and forced Nixon to resign. Back then he had “Deep Throat”, an FBI agent who was leaking information to Bob and Carl.
With Trump he doesn’t have that, so he built a team of 20 to go after him. This week the team has already published an article about Donald Trump talking dirty on an old episode of Howard Stern. HUGE NEWS! (← Facetious)
If we can expect more articles like Howard Stern interviews, it is no wonder that print media is all but dead.
