Far-left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is attacking Republicans over the $2 trillion Coronavirus relief bill.
The one problem? Every single Democrat voted for it too.
The 880-page bill was passed 96-0. The only four abstentions were Republican Senators who are self-quarantining and were unable to attend the vote.
“Just a reminder that there is absolutely no good reason why Senate Republicans are tying a historic corporate giveaway to getting relief money in the hands of families,” Ocasio-Cortez complained, via Twitter. “They could just authorize sending checks to families today, right now, & deal with the rest. But they refuse.”
Ocasio-Cortez also fumed that checks were only going to those with social security numbers–which precludes illegal immigrants.
“Thanks to GOP, these checks will be cut off the backs of *taxpaying immigrants,* who get nothing,” she added. “Many are essential workers who pay more taxes than Amazon. Wall St gets $4T.”
“What Trump + Senate GOP have done is hold hospitals, working people, and the vulnerable hostage so they could get in $500 billion (that will be leveraged into $4T) in corporate welfare. Without the Wall St giveaway, GOP refuses to fund hospitals & unemployment. It’s inhumane.”
Despite criticism from AOC online, the House passed the bill on a “voice vote.”
