President Trump is doing a phenomenal job with handling the coronavirus crisis—at least, according to the liberal Governor of California.
Gov. Gavin Newsom of California held a press conference with federal and state officials on Sunday, to discuss the 21 people with coronavirus currently onboard the Grand Princess cruise ship.
The ship will be docking on Monday in Oakland, California, near San Francisco.
Despite the media’s ongoing criticism of Trump, Newsom was quick to praise the Trump Administration, and the coronavirus task force led by Vice President Mike Pence, for its quick response.
Newsom said he had a private conversation with President Trump on Saturday, and that the President had delivered “everything we could have hoped for” during the phone call.
“I am not here to make arguments,” Newsom added. “Everything we have asked for we have received. We are very grateful for this partnership.”
114 cases of coronavirus have officially been reported in California, with one person dying. Newsom also added that “we are at the beginning a process”—and that Californians should expect more school and business closures, as well as event cancellations, due to coronavirus.
