In response to the recent Supreme Court rulings, Democratic Rep. Mazie Hirono (Hawaii) criticized, what she thinks is simply judicial “extremism” from three Supreme Court justices, who are also conservative. She went on to call them the three “horsemen of the apocalypse. Hirono made the remarks during a very heated rant on MSNBC Monday.
“It’s hardly a clear victory,” Hirono said to Andrea Mitchell, “and in fact everything that the president talks about, everything is great, wonderful, it’s still a Muslim ban. And by listing a part of the injunction, by creating a category of people who will be able to come in by showing a bona fide relationship with people or institutions in our country, I don’t know what that means.”
“By the way,” she added, “you know, Neil Gorsuch, who I did not support as a Supreme Court Justice he’s joined two of the most conservatives justices Clarence Thomas and uh Alito on the court to take the position that the entire injunction should have been lifted.”
“This is like the three horsemen of the apocalypse, and they’re waiting for the fourth one to come along so that they can go on their trend towards what I call ‘extremism.’”
“And that’s exactly the, I’m not surprised at all that Neil Gorsuch is right in there with Thomas and Alito, in wanting to, pretty much tell the president, ‘you go right ahead, impose a Muslim ban.’ I’m glad that the other justices aren’t there quite yet.”
She made the comments, referring to the Supreme Court’s decision to discuss the constitutionality of President Donald Trump’s travel ban. Even though President Trump’s executive action has been stuck in the courts, according to the Supreme Court, parts of the ban can still be implemented while the case proceeds.
However, despite the shameful remarks by the Hirono, she seems undeterred and unfazed, and put a video clip of her discussion on social media. Her caption read, “#MuslimBan still targets religion. But 3 Horsemen of the Apocalypse – Gorsuch, Alito & Thomas want to see their extreme agenda enacted.”
