Are African-Americans the latest group to “walk away” from the Democratic Party?
According to a recent Rasmussen poll, a whopping 40% of African-Americans now approve of Trump—the highest he’s ever seen.
That includes 25% of African-Americans who “strongly approve” of the job Trump is doing.
The numbers represent not just a stunning surge but a historic one: traditionally, black voters have been overwhelmingly Democrat.
In 2016, Trump received just 8% of the African-American vote. If Trump’s support among African-Americans is anywhere even in the hemisphere of 40%, it could spell disaster for Democratic presidential hopes for years to come.
Th poll also put Trump’s overall approval rate at 50 percent—6 points higher than Barack Obama’s was at this point in 2010.
