Legendary country artist, Willie Nelson upset his fans when he announced a performance at an upcoming rally for Ted Cruz’s opponent Beto O’Rourke.
Cruz is in a vicious battle to keep his Senate seat against rising Democrat opponent Beto O’Rourke. Having Willie support Beto goes against the grain in the red state of Texas, but are tons of fans really upset? If you read the headlines, people are furious, but after a search for these people, only a couple cases popped up on Twitter.
Willie’s support of O’Rourke is causing some backlash from fans, it doesn’t seem to be a lot of people.
One fan doesn’t want to go to Willie’s concert anymore, and his tweets were used in several articles about how upset the fans were.
Someone buy my Willie Nelson ticket for Friday, November 16. I am no longer willing to watch that hippie guitarist who supports that damn socialist running for Senate.

One fan brought up Willie’s past tax problems.

Other than that, there are not too many more examples.
Most fans are more supportive.
Not sure what went wrong in your life that would make you insult Willie Nelson. You can argue politics all you want but you cannot argue Willie.

Roll Call is reporting that it is the only political performance on behalf of a candidate in Willie Nelson’s life.
It will be the 85-year-old country music legend’s first-ever performance on behalf of a political candidate https://t.co/YX0LIoRoo2

It is true that Willie has stayed out of politics, but his lifestyle and hippie attitude lines up with the Democratic Party. It makes sense.
Some people are going to get upset at everything, but don’t let the media blow it out of proportion. The larger the “fake backlash”, the better O’Rourke looks.
Even if some of the headlines are an exaggeration, one thing is very real, and that is Beto O’Rourke’s chance at winning Ted Cruz’s seat.
