PETA Mocked For Censoring “Anti-Animal” Phrases

Dang PETA... take a chill pill.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals–better known as PETA–is being hilariously mocked on social media… after they tried to rewrite the English language to make it less “anti-animal.”

The loony animal group listed a number of idioms that they rewrote, explaining: “Words matter, and as our understanding of social justice evolves, our language evolves along with it. Here’s how to remove speciesism from your daily conversations.”

“Kill two birds with one stone” is too violent. PETA suggests replacing it with “feed two birds with one scone.”

“Be the guinea pig” should be replaced by “be the test tube.”

“Beat a dead horse” becomes “feed a fed horse.”

“Take the bull by the horns” has been rewritten as “take the flower by the thorns.”

And you shouldn’t “bring home the bacon”–you should “bring home the bagels.”

PETA added, in a second tweet, an explanation: “Just as it became unacceptable to use racist, homophobic, or ableist language, phrases that trivialize cruelty to animals will vanish as more people begin to appreciate animals for who they are and start ‘bringing home the bagels’ instead of the bacon.”

PETA’s latest lunacy was savaged on social media… and not just by conservatives: a number of prominent liberals couldn’t stop mocking the ridiculous phrases.

Ira Madison III, who hosts the Keep It podcast, tweeted succinctly at PETA with what everything was thinking: “Y’all are so f***ing stupid.”
