New York City’s far-left mayor, Bill de Blasio, is under attack… for violating his own coronavirus order.

De Blasio had recommended that New Yorkers only travel when absolutely essential. But on Saturday, he and his wife, Chirlaine McCray, were caught relaxing in a park across the city from their home.

Twitter user Darren Goldner caught de Blasio and McCray in the act, at Brooklyn’s Prospect Park. The park is 11 miles from Gracie Mansion in Manhattan, the historic house that serves as the official residence of New York’s mayors and is the current home of the de Blasio family.

“I live right near Prospect Park. It’s a nice place to exercise at distance. Today, I ran into [de Blasio and his wife] there,” wrote Goldner. “But they live 11 miles away *inside* another park and force a 4 SUV entourage to drive them non-essentially to Bklyn for recreation.”

Goldner than continued his thread by posting a video of him confronting de Blasio and McCray.

“Seriously, you guys have a park. You live in the middle of a park. You don’t need to non-essentially travel to Brooklyn,” Goldner argued.

De Blasio interrupted, telling Goldner, “Give it a break.”

“I’m not going to give it a break. This is selfish behavior,” Goldner continued, raising his voice. “This is so terribly selfish. You call yourself a progressive, but you chauffeur yourself to Brooklyn. You force people to drive you. This is ridiculous! This is the epitome of non-essential travel.”

In his post of the videos, Goldner called de Blasio a hypocrite–saying that de Blasio’s “actions tell us who he really is: austerity for the working class, privilege for the ruling class.”

Goldner then addressed de Blasio directly via Twitter:

“You can’t change the past & will always have blood on your hands,” he wrote. “If I were you, I’d be working night & day to help those in most dire need. Maybe start with your inadequate homeless services.”
