Is Hillary the new Nixon? Let’s take a look back first.
In 1972 a secret FBI informant, only known as Deep Throat at the time, leaked information to the Washington Post that implicated President Nixon in the break-in at the Democratic National Committee’s headquarters. He was also implicated in the cover-up.
We know how the story turns out. The informant and a newspaper exposed the criminal behavior of the president and Nixon was forced to resign.
What some people don’t know is that Deep throat was an FBI assistant director that was fed up with Nixon’s criminal activity and his agency’s inability to indict.
That same situation is brewing right now around the Hillary Clinton campaign. No, she didn’t break in to the DNC, but she has broken laws pertaining to our national security.
The thing is, she doesn’t even seem to think is even a marginal threat. See the video when asked about being indicted.
From the way that Hillary Clinton talks about it, she doesn’t even feel as if she is under investigation by the FBI.
This investigation has been going on for over a year and only in February did we get the last of many email released to the public. Even though Clinton said that none of her emails were marked classified, there are over 100 now that have not been released to the public for being too sensitive.
The investigation is heating up and, whether she wants to admit it or not, Hillary is feeling the pressure. Her own IT specialist has been given immunity by the FBI and is working with them to offer any and all information he has.
Her closest aides are part of the investigation and some of them might be charged as well. The FBI is working hard to get to the bottom of this matter, and at the end of the day they will decide whether or not to recommend an indictment to the Department of Justice.
From the way that Hillary spoke in the debate clip above, it seems that she is very confident nothing will happen. Is that because she has made a deal to make sure the Administration protects her? Is she promising to nominate Obama to the Supreme Court?
Who knows for sure, but what is certain is that she isn’t worried. At least publicly she hasn’t cracked. Now this is where we tie in Watergate and Nixon. Nixon went down because an FBI agent saw that a crime was being swept under the rug and hidden from the American people.
That agent decided to leak the info so Nixon would be forced to resign. Could that happen again? Yes. With all the information and agents assigned to the Clinton email scandal, if she did commit a crime and worked out a deal to save her candidacy, then we will most likely see another Deep Throat come forward to take the new Nixon down.
But this time the news won’t be leaked to the Washington Post but to some relativity unknown organization that isn’t tied to either establishment. Possibly to Donald Trump himself.
It is safe to say that if Clinton did commit a crime, and she isn’t indicted, her dirty laundry will be spilled into the streets, which could be more damaging than just being indicted.
The only hope Hillary has to make it to the White House is to be innocent of these charges. If she is indicted or there is a cover-up, the news will get out and Hillary may not even have the chance to run. Worse, she wins and is forced to resign before her term is up, making her the new Nixon.
This election cycle is a very unique one. It is not too often you have a presidential candidate that is under serious investigation by the FBI winning her party’s nomination to the White House.
