FBI Arrests Bundy Patriarch; The Rest Surrender

Bundy

Seventy four year-old Cliven Bundy was arrested last night after he arrived on a flight from Nevada to Oregon.

An FBI SWAT team surrounded the father of Ammon and Ryan Bundy at the airport and arrested him on conspiracy to interfere with a federal officer, along with firearms charges.

Cliven was headed to the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Burns Iowa presumably to speak with the four remaining occupiers of the refuge.

The charges that Bundy faces are actually old as he had not been part of the takeover of the refuge in Oregon. Instead, the federal government decided to charge him for conspiracy for acts in 2014 when the government stole the rancher’s cattle in a dispute over grazing fees.

With his sons Ammon and Ryan already locked up and facing long sentences, the feds decided to figuratively cut the head off the Bundy family by arresting the elder Cliven.

Hours after his arrest, the four holdouts in Malheur decided to surrender to the FBI after a tense night.

The government had moved in on the protesters, surrounding them and bellowing through a bullhorn to “come out with your hands up.”

The protest lasted 40 days and ended with one man dead. LaVoy Finicum was shot and killed by Oregon State Police with his arms raised. The FBI has released aerial footage of the murder but so far has refused to release dash and body cams of the shooting.

Soon after the arrest of Cliven Bundy, liberals lit up twitter in celebration of the arrest:

With the arrest occurring two years after the events for Cliven, it’s clear the government wanted to get this entire family off of the “streets” and off of their backs. If Cliven were a danger to society, he would have been arrested two years ago . . . but the reality is that Cliven Bundy and his sons were simply a danger to government.
