House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is being attacked, after she hosted a fancy dinner party for House Democrats–apparently to celebrate shutting down the government.
Politico’s Jake Sherman first reported on the dinner, which was held at Acqua Al 2 in Washington, DC.
Considering the government shutdown–which prevents members of the military and other government officials from getting paychecks–Pelosi was attacked for being out-of-touch.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders tweeted, “Nancy Pelosi is ‘very proud’ Democrats shut the government down over illegal immigration and is taking Democrats out tonight to celebrate. Nice message to send to the brave men & women of our military and border patrol forced to work without pay during the #DemocraticShutdown.”
