Nurse refuses to treat Trump supporters with Coronavirus

A registered nurse in Florida announced on Twitter that she will refuse to treat any Trump supporters who come into the ER with a case of Coronavirus.

The threat comes from a woman named Erika Waters, who claims to be an RN in Naples, Florida, in her reply to a post from Trump supporter George S. Martan.

Martan posted a photo of him wearing a homemade red face mask with “Trump 2020” embroidered on it.

“My wife sewed this face mask today to protect me from the Wuhan virus and show support for President Trump,” he wrote.

The support for Trump, apparently, caused Waters to fly off the handle–saying that, if he came into the ER wearing that mask, she would let him die of Coronavirus.

“I’ll see you in ER. Please wear your mask so when we have to decide who gets the [ventilator], it’ll be easier. Thanks.”

It’s unclear whether a nurse by the name of Erika Waters exists in Naples, Florida–but that hasn’t stopped conservatives from launching a petition to the Florida Board of Nursing to get her license revoked once she’s identified.

“As a citizen, and a Trump supporter, I do NOT like the idea of healthcare workers making political decisions with people’s lives,” the petition writes.

“I do not think that a person with the extreme willingness to post this type of politically repugnant, unethical and frankly amoral statement on social media ought to be serving in ANY healthcare capacity. It actually scares me to death to think there are sociopathy-telegraphing RNs who would even think in this way.”

Waters has since deleted her Twitter account.
