David Hogg Declares Run For Congress

Ohhhh.... really tough choice!

Anti-gun activist and Parkland, Fla., high school student David Hogg is planning a run for Congress.

The eighteen-year-old provacateur plans to run for office in seven years, when he reach constitutionally-eligible age of 25.

“I think I’ve come to that conclusion,” Hogg said, in an interview with New York Magazine. “I want to be at least part of the change in Congress.”

In the meantime, Hogg plans to prepare for a future run–namely by “read[ing] a sh*tload of books” and then working on a 2020 presidential campaign, though he hasn’t specified who he’d support.

Despite Hogg’s frequent attacks against prominent Republicans, he admitted that the GOP is doing a better job of “empowering young people”–namely, Speaker Paul Ryan, who is in his 40s.

By contrast, Hogg took umbrage at the Democratic Party leadership–most of whom are in their 70s or 80s.

“Older Democrats just won’t move the f*** off the plate and let us take control,” Hogg complained. “[Democratic House Minority Leader] Nancy Pelosi is old.”

Regardless of whether Hogg succeeds in toppling the Democratic establishment, he believes it’s his destiny to be in politics.

“We really only remember a few hundred people, if that many, out of the billions that have ever lived,” Hogg said. “Is that what I was destined to become?”
