The majority of Americans approve of President Trump’s handling of Coronavirus.
A top Joe Biden aide? Not so much.
Ohio State Rep. Tavia Galonski (D), who has been named a senior advisor to Joe Biden’s presidential campaign, took to Twitter… saying that she wanted President Trump to be prosecuted at the International Criminal Court in The Hague for “crimes against humanity.”
Her reason? President Trump pushed the drug Hydroxychloroquine as a possible treatment for Coronavirus.
“I can’t take it anymore,” Galonski tweeted on Sunday, in response to President Trump urging patients to consider Hydroxychloroquine. “I’ve been to The Hague. I’m making a referral for crimes against humanity tomorrow. Today’s press conference was the last straw. I know the need for a prosecution referral when I see one.”
It became clear that Galonski wasn’t just spouting political hyperbole when she doubled down and urged international lawyers to contact her.
“I need every lawyer that ever did any work on the international level to contact me at jtb1666@aol.com immediately. When we worked on international custody cases we had a cadre of lawyers working on the case. Suit up!” she added, in another tweet.
Galonski also assured a Twitter user that “part of the Complaint” will also include “disbanding an Indigenous Tribe, kidnapping children, putting them in cages, making babies stand trial, abusing them in those concentration camps, [and] not giving them medical care so they die.”
According to the ICC, crimes against humanity is defined as “part of a widespread or systematic attack directed against any civilian population, with knowledge of the attack.”
Recommending a drug–especially one like Hydroxychloroquine, which is safe for human consumption and frequently used for diseases like malaria and lupus–doesn’t seem to qualify.
Despite Galonski’s claims that President Trump is somehow responsible for the deaths of American citizens because of his recommendation, no Coronavirus patient has yet died from taking physician-prescribed Hydroxychloroquine.
The drug has been granted emergency approval by the FDA to treat the most severe cases of Coronavirus, and numerous small-scale tests have shown its effectiveness.
