Are Black Voters Switching Sides?

"They're starting to think for themselves?.... Ohhhhh, that's bad George..."

A new poll from Rasmussen Reports shows that more black voters think young black Americans are better off under Trump than Obama.

In July 2016, during Obama’s final year in office, just 13% of black voters thought life was getting better for young blacks.

But now, 28% of black voters think black Americans are better off–under President Trump.

Almost since the day President Trump was elected, the economy has been booming.

For the first time in history, there are more open jobs than unemployed Americans–paving the way for full employment and possible wage increases down the road.

In addition, the Atlanta Federal Reserve has predicted 4.8% growth over the next quarter–a truly stunning figure.

What’s more, Trump has been widely credited for the booming economy–with 68% of voters believing that his policies are responsible for economic growth.

Trump received just 8% of the African-American vote in 2016… but, after good policies and support from prominent African-American celebrities like Kanye West, his approval with the heavily-Democratic voting bloc in up to 16.5%.

While that number means Trump hasn’t won over the vast majority of black voters, it shows that he’s cutting dramatically into a central pillar of Democratic voters–which could help him fend off attacks in 2020 in swing states.
