Theses states that have legislatively adopted stand-your-ground laws are:

Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

The states that have adopted stand-your-ground in practice, through either case law or jury instructions are:

California, Colorado, Illinois, New Mexico, Oregon, Virginia, and Washington.

States that have adopted stand-your-ground, but limit it to only when a person is within their vehicle are:

North Dakota, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

The states that have castle doctrine with the duty to retreat in public are:

Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nebraska, New York, New Jersey, and Rhode Island.
