Sheriff Has Simple Solution to Stop Terrorists

Brevard County, Florida, Sheriff Wayne Ivey claims to be “probably one of the most politically incorrect sheriffs in the country.”

In a new six minute video clip, which clearly won’t please liberals in any way, Ivey highlights the steep rise in terrorist attacks across Europe, especially the UK. He then asks Americans to wake up and protect themselves and their homeland.

“Folks, now more than ever is the time for our citizens to be prepared to serve as first line of defense — not only for them, but for their families when the attack happens,” Ivey says. “And let me be perfectly clear: doing nothing or just hoping it won’t happen to you is not going to save your life.”

He adds: “For those who think that it can’t or won’t happen here, trust me when I tell you that it’s already happening all around us. And the only thing left to question is when and where it will happen again — and how many more innocent lives will be lost.”

Making fun of the London Met Police’s advice of “run, hide, and tell” to Londoners after the terror attack on London Bridge on June 3, Ivey asks “What’s next? Ask you to run, hide and then draw a line in the sand, while daring the cold-blooded murderer to cross it?”

No, for Ivey what’s next means coming to “fully understand that this is war, and you better be prepared to wage war to protect you, your family and those around you if attacked.

“I am firmly convinced that as Americans we can no longer sit back and pray the fight isn’t brought to us,” he said. “Instead, we have to stand together, shoulder to shoulder, prepared and ready to issue an immediate and directed response when the attack happens.”

When it came to how people should prepare themselves to be ready to deal with a crisis or attack, Ivey recommended devising a “survival strategy right now.” He called on individuals with concealed carry permits to carry a firearm at all times. He also suggested practicing and taking classes on how to use arms and ammunition in case of an attack.

He also told his audience to remember that the only attack that was foiled on 9/11 was when American citizens stood up to extremism on United Airlines flight 93 and “showed terrorists what happens when Americans fight back.”

However, it is to be noted that this isn’t the first time Ivey has spoken on the topic. Back in 2015, he asked gun owners to be ready, “mentally and physically prepared” to neutralize any threat to their family.

“Let there be no mistake in what I’m about to say,” Ivey said. “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. If you are a person who is legally licensed to carry a firearm, now is a time more than ever to realize that you and you alone very well might be the first line of defense for you [and] your family.”
