The parents of a 13-year-old claim that their daughter was “brainwashed” by her school into thinking she’s a transgender boy.
Ashleigh and Ged Barnett accused Hoe Valley School, located just outside of London, England, of convincing their daughter that she was actually a boy… and then giving her one-on-one “mentoring sessions” about her new gender in secret, without parental consent.
“Our daughter was egged on to feel that she’s a boy in a girl’s body,” explained Ashleigh Barnett. “Last August she had lovely long hair, wore a dress and make-up, and looked like a pretty teenage girl. By November, she didn’t look like the same child.”
The mentoring sessions apparently began last September, and continued through November.
Their daughter’s sudden transformation left the Barnetts stunned… until they contacted the school on an unrelated matter and found out the truth: the school had, in fact, been coaching her on how to live as a boy.
According to the Barnetts, a teaching assistant with no formal qualifications led the charge, even encouraging their daughter to take a new, male name and to use the boys’ locker room.
“The school didn’t think it was fit to tell us,” Ashleigh fumed. “We are her parents, but responsibility to care for our child has been taken away. The attitude is that it’s the child’s choice and it’s got nothing to do with us.”
Her husband, Ged, puts the blame directly on the school: “It’s no coincidence that she showed no signs of gender dysphoria immediately prior to the ‘mentoring,’ but presented with classic signs afterwards.”
The Barnetts’ daughter has since been seeing a professional psychologist, who anonymously told the local media that it was “appalling” what the school did to their daughter.
