Melania Trump’s Parents Become US Citizens

Melania Trump
LEGAL immigration is a beautiful thing!

The United States gained two new citizens: the parents of First Lady Melania Trump.

Viktor and Amalija Knavs took their citizenship oaths on Thursday, August 9 in New York City, according to the family’s lawyer, Michael Wildes.

“It went well and they are very grateful and appreciative of this wonderful day for their family,” said Wildes.

Mrs. Trump’s office declined to comment to the media on her parents’ new citizenship.

The Knavs, like their daughter, are natives of Slovenia, and have been living permanently in the United States on a green card. They’re frequently spotted with their daughter and son-in-law, President Trump–and have accompanied the First Family on a number of trips to the Trump resorts of Mar-A-Lago and Bedminister, New Jersey.

Mrs. Trump is the second First Lady to be born outside the United States, after Louisa Adams–the wife of President John Quincy Adams–who was born in London in 1775, before the American Revolution.
