A transgender woman murdered three people in a mass shooting at a Rite Aid warehouse in suburban Maryland on Thursday.
Snochia Moseley, 26, was apparently at a “breaking point,” due to declining mental health.
Mosely arrived at the Rite Aid support distribution center in Aberdeen, Maryland, at 9:09am on Thursday morning and immediately opened fire.
All in all, three people were killed and three people were injured. In addition, Moseley committed suicide at the scene.
Friend Toni Coley, who had known Moseley since high school, claimed that Moseley felt alienated–but despite the mass shooting, Moseley ‘wasn’t a monster, wasn’t an angry person’.
‘I just believe this was emotional distress. If she did this, it was her last straw,’ she said.
Moseley, who was born a man, had come out as transgender in December 2016. It’s not clear if Moseley was actually undergoing hormone therapy.
Moseley’s motives for the crime remain unclear.
