A black man was so “fed up” with racism… that he killed four white men.
Kori Ali Muhammad, 39, was arrested back in 2017 in connection with the killing of three people in downtown Fresno, California.
On Monday, his case finally went to trial… and prosecutors played a recording featuring a startling admission about his motives for his crimes: racism.
“It starts taking its toll on you and you get fed up with the racism,” he told police. “You get tired of letting things slide.”
Muhammad’s “anti-racist” attacks began in April 2017, when he tried to visit a friend who was staying at a local motel. The motel security guard, Carl Williams III, 25, told him he would have to register with the front desk and pay a visitor’s fee.
However, after apparently threatening the manager, both Muhammad and his friend were kicked out of the motel. Security footage shows him approaching Williams, and shooting and killing him as revenge for “disrespect.”
On the recording with police, Muhammad explained that he later saw on the local news that he was wanted for murder. He reasoned that, if he was “going down for murder” anyway, he would “kill as many white men” as he could before he was caught.
“I just found some white men to kill,” Muhammad added, nonchalantly–referring to the three white men he killed after the motel shooting.
His first victim was Zachary Randalls, 34, who was in a Pacific Gas & Electric truck.
“When I walked up to the truck, I saw a Mexican driver and a white guy,” Muhammad explained. “I didn’t want to target the driver because he was Mexican so I shot the white dude.”
Muhammad also killed Mark Gassett, 37, and David Jackson, 58, before being apprehended by police.
Muhammad’s defense plans to argue that he was insane at the time of the killings. He faces the death penalty if convicted.
